CWRCA shares Online DIY Windshield Cleaner Recipes that Work

The California Windshield Repair Contractors Association (CWRCA) has shared Do-It-Yourself (DIY) windshield cleaner recipes meant to help car owners save on costs. In their official website the CWRCA posted the different recipes that can be used as a DIY glass cleaner meant to make auto glass smoother and shinier.

CWRCA President Jacob Taylor says these are not their own recipes, but these are DIY recipes found online, and have been deemed effective by their members. “There are DIY recipes that work, and there are those that don’t. We are sharing those that our members have tested, and have been deemed useful and effective. Using these instead of expensive auto glass cleaners sold on stores will definitely help vehicle owners save a lot,” says Taylor.

One of the recipes that they shared is the Water, Vinegar, Alcohol, and Cornstarch Mixture featured over at Crunchybetty.com. It uses quarter cup each of alcohol and white vinegar, a tablespoon of ordinary cornstarch and then two cups of water all combined in a spray bottle. Repair of Laminated Autoglass Standards

“Grand Total: $0.48 for an entire bottle of glass cleaner. Not to mention, it’s completely nontoxic, you can simply reuse your old glass cleaner bottle over and over and over again (or you could paint a bottle, like I did mine, because it’s tres chic), and you’re not spraying nasty things all up in the air for your kids, spouses, and pets to breathe.”

All-natural DIY Glass Cleaner

The CWRCA also mentioned a recipe that made use of toxin-free ingredients. The recipe comes from natural parenting website Whole New Mom. In shareinf her DIY Glass Cleaner Formula,  the author mentioned that apart from health reasons, going the natural route also helps the environment. Auto Glass Safety Council

“Do you really want to add these toxins to our already toxically-overloaded environment?  I am convinced that one of the main problems regarding the onslaught of autism, auto-immune disorders and cancer is the prevalence of toxins in our world.  Let's do what ever we can, within reason, to help clean things up for us and for future generations.  Every time you can use a toxin free product over a toxin laden one, you help the environment.”

Check out her recipe here.

There is indeed a lot of benefits in using Do It Yourself auto glass cleaning formulas. The CWRCA encourages vehicle owners to switch to more natural cleansers that are less expensive, eco-friendlier, and less harsh to the autoglass finish.
